Tineco actually has two different stick vacuum models in this product category (A10 and A11), and both of those two vacuums have two different sets of attachments available (Hero or Master). This chart will give you an idea of the differences and help you decide which vacuum would be the ideal one for you.

We will be introducing the Tineco A11 Master because it comes with the most extensive set of attachments and has the best price-quality ratio. However, if you are on a tight budget, any of the three other products would be an excellent choice as well and save you a few bucks. Click here to see Tineco A10 Hero on Amazon.

All of these vacuums have the critical tools to keep your pet home spick-and-span – the A11 Master+ just has a few sweet cherries on the top.

     1. Strong suction and a 50-minute runtime

The maximum suction power of the Tineco A11 is 120W, which is fantastic for a cordless and lightweight vacuum. Combined with the functional attachments and two power brushes, this vacuum offers impressive cleaning results and incredible performance.

The two interchangeable batteries enable an excellent runtime of 50 minutes. Using the MAX mode will take the runtime down to 15 minutes, which is still very impressive considering the strength of the suction.

The detachable batteries can be charged separately on the charging base, which allows you to use one battery while charging the other one. The two batteries that are included will give you ample time for a cleanup, but if you want an even longer runtime, you can always add an extra battery or two.

     2. Lightweight and easy to use

The vacuum weighs only 2.68 pounds without the wand and attachments and 5.5 pounds altogether, which is very lightweight for a powerful stick vacuum like this.

The weight distribution could be better since the vacuum feels slightly heavier than its actual weight. But since it's a very lightweight vacuum, this is only a small shortcoming.

The A10 and A11 vacuums have a trigger switch like the Dyson, but Tineco has also added a switch lock that will keep the power running without having to keep the trigger down while steering the vacuum. Many users are happy to see this feature as it makes vacuuming even more effortless.

The vacuum is not quite as easy to handle as the Dyson V10 it is often compared to, but we would say it's very user-friendly nonetheless. The smart design makes it simple to handle, and the pieces lock into place with ease. Also, the emptying system is pretty close to what Dyson has, but many users find the system on Tineco has designed more convenient.

    3. A huge set of attachments

The array of attachments the A11 Master comes with is truly awe-inspiring.

Other Tineco stick vacuums have fewer tools included, but they all come with all the critical attachments pet owners need to keep their home clean. You can see the differences between the vacuums in the comparison chart. It will give you an idea of which model has the tools that answer to your cleaning needs.

The most comprehensive set of attachments comes with the Tineco A11 Master. This is what the package includes:

    • LED Multi-tasker power brush for all floor types. This attachment is the main cleaning head of the vacuum. It has a powerful brush roll that picks up all kinds of dirt and debris on all types of floor materials. It is an excellent all-around tool for keeping your home clean, although some users say that it is slightly more awkward to maneuver than the Dyson Torque Drive cleaning head.

The attachment is 10.4" wide to offer a broader cleaning path and more area vacuumed at each pass. It also has LED headlights, which are great for visibility. This feature allows you to see all the dust and pet hair lurking under the furniture. Not only does it help you reach better cleaning results, but it also adds convenience to vacuuming.

    • LED Soft-roller power brush for hard floor materials and large debris. This softer brush roll tool is specifically designed for hard floor materials like hardwood, parquet, laminate, and tile. The soft brush can pick up even larger piles of debris because it has a big opening in the front, and it gives you a polished cleaning result.

All the four vacuums come with a set of basic add-on tools:

    • Mini power brush
    • Crevice tool
    • 2-in-1 dusting brush
    • Hair cleaning tool

The crevice tool and dusting brush are fairly standard but convenient tools to have. The dusting brush is especially helpful when you use it to dust surfaces instead of a traditional duster. All the dust is sucked up by the vacuum cleaner rather than being wafted into the air by the duster.

Although these two attachments are useful, what pet owners will really love is the motorized mini power brush. It is pretty similar to the one Dyson has, and equally as effective. It is very capable of removing pet hair from surfaces like upholstered furniture, carpeted stairs, pet beds, and car seats.

If you opt for the A11 Master+ model to add even more versatility, you will get four more attachments:

    • Soft dusting brush
    • Flexible extension hose
    • Flexible multi-angle tube
    • Long soft crevice tool

These tools are an excellent addition if you want to use your vacuum to clean your car or if you have vents, fans, or other hard-to-reach spots to vacuum.

The A11 also comes with two batteries and a Dual Charging Powerhouse for charging and storing the vacuum and the tools. Like the Dyson, this powerhouse is wall-mountable, and it is a very convenient way of always having the vacuum and attachments in one place – charged up and ready for a cleanup.

    4. 4-stage sealed HEPA filtration and a large dirt cup

The dirt cup of the A11 has a capacity of 0.6 liters. That is a pretty large dirt cup for a lightweight vacuum of this size. It is more than enough the hold all the pet hair – even if you have more than one pet that sheds heaps of hair.

The filtering is excellent as well, as it is a True HEPA filtration system. That means that it is fully sealed, and no particles will leak out of the vacuum before passing through the 4-stage HEPA filtration system.

To make sure the exhaust air is extremely clean the air flows through these four stages:

    • Cyclonic separation
    • Mesh filter
    • Microfiber filter
    • HEPA hygiene filter

Because of the highly efficient filtration, this vacuum can be recommended for pet owners suffering from allergies and sensitivities.

The vacuum also comes with a rinse-free cleaning tool and an extra filter. Instead of having to rinse the filter with water and wait for 24 hours before you can put it back in, Tineco offers a rinse-free cleaning tool that will deep-clean the filter in just 10 seconds and bring back the suction if a dirty filter has blocked it. This tool is very convenient and users love it!

At PetHairPatrol, we look at Tineco vacuums with admiration. They have pulled off what all vacuum manufacturers are trying to do: to combine all the best features in one powerful, easy-to-use vacuum – and to keep the price reasonable while doing so.

Although not quite as powerful, the Tineco vacuums really do give Dyson a run for its money. Tineco A11 has a weaker suction when compared to Dyson V10, and the weight distribution is not as good either. But on the other hand, A11 comes with a few more useful attachments, and the emptying system is easier to use. Many users also love the fact that Tineco offers a trigger switch lock and detachable batteries - something we’ve been waiting for Dyson to add to their products as well.

We can recommend the Tineco A11 (and A10 as well) for pet owners looking for a great stick vacuum for pet hair. It has everything you need: powerful suction, long runtime, handy attachments, motorized brush roll, HEPA filtration, and a large dirt cup. And that’s not all folks! It even has those nice little add-ons that make vacuuming just that much easier: headlights, trigger switch lock, a rinse-free cleaning tool for the filter, and a Charging Powerhouse.

We have to say the Tineco A11 stick vacuum is pretty near perfect when you consider its price point.

Why choose this product: The Dyson V10 is a highly popular stick vacuum with excellent ratings and top-notch features. Dyson vacuums are considered the cream of the crop when it comes to powerful cordless stick vacuums, and for a good reason.

This vacuum combines the versatility and agility of a lightweight cordless vacuum and the cleaning power of a sturdier vacuum. The runtime is up to 60 minutes, the machine is easy to use, and it is made with durable, high-quality materials. Pet owners will love the strong suction, large dirt cup, and fully sealed HEPA-filtration – not to mention the full set of excellent attachments that will easily get rid of that pet hair on all surfaces.

The V10 has fantastic features, and it is definitely worth the investment for anyone looking for a high-performing and easy-to-use top class product.

Dyson has re-invented its stick vacuum with the new in-line design. It has more power, stronger suction, longer runtime, larger dirt cup, and a more powerful cleaning head compared to their previous V8 cordless stick vacuum.

It is the ideal vacuum for all kinds of cleanups – big or small, down low or up high.

Dyson has actually released an updated version of this vacuum called the Dyson V11 . This newer version is even more powerful, and it has other small improvements like a digital screen and automatic suction adjustment. Although the Dyson V11 is an even better cordless vacuum than the already impressive V10, the changes have been quite small, and we still recommend the V10 - especially since there has been a drop in the price after the release of V11.

But let's dive into the details with Dyson V10...

    1. 60-minute runtime and powerful suction

The new powerful Dyson V10 motor spins at 125.000 rpm producing 79.000g G-force inside each of the 14 cyclones. This generates a strong 150AW suction, which makes this vacuum incredibly capable of cleaning carpets and other challenging surfaces.

    There are three power modes:

    • Suction level I,
    • Suction level II, and
    • Boost mode.

While the Boost mode gives you that maximum 150AW suction, level I is great for dusting and vacuuming delicate surfaces, and level II is the best choice for all other cleaning jobs.

When it comes to cleaning power, there is no doubt that the V10 is one of the best choices in this product category. Most cordless vacuums don't reach anywhere near in suction strength and performance.

The runtime is up to 60 minutes depending on the mode you use and the tools you have attached to the vacuum. This is also very impressive for a cordless vacuum with only one battery. Of course, the runtime does go down when using the boost mode, but the battery should give you more than enough time to give your home a thorough cleanup.

If the battery is empty, it takes 3.5 hours for a full charge, which is normal with this type of vacuum. We would like to see Dyson use detachable batteries, but this is just a small downside in a vacuum that is perfect in so many ways.

    2. Lightweight and easy to use

The vacuum is very lightweight at just under 5.9 pounds with the wand and brush head attached. The weight distribution makes it easy to handle, and users report the vacuum feels lighter than many similar vacuums.

Dyson uses a trigger switch to maximize the runtime: the vacuum only runs when you hold the vacuum. The trigger is light, and it saves the battery for when you're actually vacuuming. Still, some users would like to see a basic power switch. It doesn't strain your hand, and it is easy to use. However, a switch lock would be a nice addition.

That said, the vacuum turns on a dime, and it's easy to steer between and under furniture. Also, the emptying system is convenient, and all the pieces lock firmly together.

    3. Washable HEPA-filter and a large dirt cup

The cyclone technology and washable lifetime filter take care of filtering the exhaust air. The filtration is fully sealed, and it traps 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, which makes it a true HEPA filtration system. This feature is highly beneficial for pet owners as you can rest assured that all allergy-triggering dander is trapped inside the filtration system and not blown out.

The size of the dirt bin has been increased by 40% up to 0.77 liters (0.2 gallons), which means it can hold a considerable amount of dirt and pet hair. With a large dirt cup like this, the airflow doesn't get blocked by dirt and hair.

And what every pet owner is bound to love is the hands-free and mess-free point-and-shoot emptying. There is no need to pull out strands of hair as the bin ejects all the dirt with a pull of a lever. The wand needs to be detached to empty the bin, which is a minor downside, but otherwise, the process is just very easy, quick, and hygienic.

    4. Versatility with great attachments

The V10 easily vacuums all floor surfaces, and when it's time for above-floor cleaning, you just detach the wand and use one of the convenient tools.

Torque Drive Cleaner Head is the main tool that you can use for all floor surfaces and carpets. It gives carpets a thorough cleanup by digging into the surface to pull up all the dirt and hair that hides under that thick surface.

In addition, you also get a Soft Roller Cleaner Head, which is intended for hard floor surfaces like parquet or laminate to give them a polished look. We love the design of this tool as rolls over all kinds of debris, pulling them in instead of scattering it around. This tool is just what you need in the kitchen, where you have food pellets, cereal, sugar, and other mess that can be hard to clean up.

Pet owners praise the Dyson mini motorized tool, which is excellent for picking up pet hair from upholstered surfaces, car seats, and carpeted stairs! With the sturdy spinning brush roll, this attachment powers through the surface, picking up everything as it goes. It's a heaven-sent if you have an upholstered sofa that is always covered in pet hair. It even works on velvet and other pet hair -attracting fabrics.

You also get a few other attachments that amp up the versatility of the Dyson V10:

    • Soft dusting brush – for dusting window screens and other delicate surfaces.
    • Combination tool – crevice tool and dusting brush combined. It's great for dusting tables, countertops, windowsills, baseboards…
    • Crevice tool – enables you to reach those nooks and crevices.

The clever wall-mountable charging dock is also included, and it keeps your Dyson charged and ready to go whenever you need to do some vacuuming.

Plus, there are add-ons available online! Dog owners might enjoy the mess-free grooming tool, or if you have a car, you might want to upgrade with a car cleaning tool kit.

The Dyson V10 will give you excellent cleaning results on all surfaces. It is a true all-rounder and an incredibly handy addition to your cleaning arsenal.

    • Lightweight aluminum alloy tube
    • Stretchable hose
    • Crevice nozzle
    • 2-in-1 cleaning brush
    • Mini motorized head
    • 2-in-1 square brush
    Lightweight and easy to use

This MOOSOO vacuum is lightweight and quite small in size, making it easy to carry and maneuver. The rotating swivel head lets you steer it without straining your arm, and because it weighs only 2.84lbs, you can effortlessly use this the vacuum for cleaning hard-to-reach areas high up as well.

The trigger switch will turn on the vacuum and change the power modes. Users enjoy the fact that they don't have to keep holding the trigger to keep the power on. However, it is placed so that you may accidentally turn off the vacuum while cleaning. This is just a small shortcoming, but something you will need to get used to.

The vacuum also has a hands-free emptying system, which is easy to use and hygienic. You just pop open the bottom, and all the trash will fall out and into the dirt bin.

    Quiet and high-powered brushless motor

The brushless motor spins at 50000rpm, providing up to 17 kpa suction while producing only 65dB of noise.

The vacuum has two power modes: the standard mode at 10 kpa for light cleaning and dusting, and the MAX mode at 17 kpa for tougher dirt. Although the suction is quite low on the standard mode, when using the MAX mode, the suction is powerful. It will easily pick up challenging dirt like sand and small debris.

We would like to see a third mode in the middle, but as the maximum capacity is what matters in pet homes, we are happy to see that the MAX mode provides a suction that is capable of picking up that pet hair from your carpet and the dirt in the hallway.

    4-stage fully sealed HEPA filtration

This Moosoo vacuum comes with a 4-stage sealed filtration system that prevents dirty air from leaking out of the vacuum into the air. The machine uses cyclonic filtration to separate dirt from the air before pushing it through a honeycomb filter, screen filter, and a HEPA filter, which will filter out even the smaller dust and dander particles.

The HEPA and honeycomb filters are washable, which gives them a longer lifetime before they have to be replaced. Washing the filter will also keep up the unobstructed airflow and keep the dust from building up in the filtration system.

This sealed high-density filtration system ensures that all the dust and dirt that is sucked up end up filtered and will not leak back into the air. In pet homes, an efficient filtration system is even more important because it makes sure all that dander, dust, and pet hair get thoroughly cleaned up.

Replacement filters will give this vacuum a longer lifetime, and they are inexpensive, which makes this vacuum a fantastic choice for the price-conscious consumer.

Detachable battery with up to 30-minute runtime

The vacuum comes with a 2200mAh high-capacity battery that, according to MOOSOO, allows for a 60-minute runtime on the standard mode and a 15-minute runtime when using the MAX mode. However, users report the runtime being up to 45 minutes, but of course, the runtime will depend on not only the mode that is being used but the attachments as well. Anyway, the runtime is pretty good for a stick vacuum in this price category, and it will give you plenty of time for cleaning.

It takes about 4 hours for the vacuum to be fully juiced up, but the battery is detachable if you want to use two or more batteries consecutively. You only get one battery with the vacuum, but there are extra batteries available at a small cost.

Although the battery is detachable, it has to be charged on the machine, meaning you can't charge one battery while using another. That said, having an interchangeable battery still enables you to use two or more batteries one after the other to lengthen the runtime. This is a great feature if you want to use the vacuum for vacuuming a large home or if you want a longer continuous cleaning time for more challenging cleaning jobs.

The interchangeable battery will also give the machine a longer lifetime as you don't have to change the vacuum if the battery stops working. Just get a new battery, and you're good to go. Again, a good feature costwise.

    • 2-in-1 cleaning brush
    • Mini motorized head
    • 2-in-1 square brush

This MOOSOO vacuum comes with a great set of attachments. The tools do add to the price, but as they also add to the versatility, the set is definitely worth the extra cost.

The upgraded main floor head is lightweight and easy to maneuver. It comes with a motorized brush roll that easily picks up all types of dirt and debris on different surfaces and can, therefore, be used on multiple floor types and carpets. To make the vacuum incredibly adaptable, MOOSOO has also added a nice set of attachments. The crevice nozzle lets you reach those nooks and corners, and the 2-in-1 cleaning brush is great for dusting.

You will also get a 2-in-1 square brush with stiff bristles for cleaning upholstered furniture and a motorized brush roll tool, which is excellent for thoroughly cleaning furniture, car seats, and other upholstery. And last but not least, there are the highly-useful attachments like the motorized turbo brush tool and a tangle-free brush roll head, which will wipe out that pet hair in no time!

The ICONPet is the most advanced cordless pet hair vacuum from Bissell and a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a functional midrange vacuum that can easily remove pet hair from all surfaces of your home.

The new design is easier to handle, and the attachments and other features are targeted for pet owners trying to keep their home clean while having pets that shed and make other messes.

The ICONPet is getting good reviews from users, and it has performed well in tests. All in all, it is a good package with the necessary features that keep your home free of pet hair, dander, dust, and other dirt.

    Let's take a closer look…

55-minute runtime and three power modes

The ICONPet has a High Power Digital Motor which runs at 55 000 RPM, and a battery that provides up to 55 minutes of runtime when using the Quiet Cleaning Mode, 32 minutes on Everyday Cleaning Mode and 18 minutes on Max Mode. The runtime is actually terrific for a cordless vacuum, and it will give you more than enough time to clean your home or car.

The ICONPet has three cleaning modes for different surfaces.

On the Quiet Cleaning Mode, the suction is not actually very strong. Still, it is useful for vacuuming delicate surfaces like drapes or furniture or just using the brush attachment for dusting. The medium and strong modes, however, are what wipes out that pet hair and all other dust, dirt, and debris on your floors and carpets.

The Max Cleaning Mode maximizes the suction at 130AW for cleaning carpets, and the Everyday Cleaning Mode balances the suction power and runtime for optimal results on hard floors and area rugs.

Tests verify that the suction is not as powerful as on other similar vacuums. However, the engineering and design still enable this vacuum to provide excellent cleaning results. Especially with pet hair, it's not all about the suction; an efficient brush roll and functional technology make up a huge part of how the vacuum performs in the end.

    Lightweight and easy to use

With the 2-in-1 design, the vacuum quickly converts into a handheld vacuum, which allows you to clean all those above-floor surfaces. This is a great feature to have, as pet hair and dust tend to collect in hard-to-reach areas.

The Bissell ICONPet weighs 7 lbs, which doesn't make it as lightweight as some other products in this category. However, with good weight distribution, the machine still feels light and won't strain your arm while vacuuming. Although it's not one of the lightest of stick vacuums, it still falls under those lightweight products you will have no problem holding or maneuvering.

The handle is ergonomically designed for comfortable cleaning, and the vacuum is easily steered across different surfaces. The curved handle also provides better weight distribution, which makes vacuuming easier for your arm. In addition, the LED lights provide visibility under furniture and in other challenging areas where pet hair often accumulates.

The ICONPet cordless vacuum is easy to use, and it performs well - what else do you need?

    Oh right, these features:

Tools that will wipe out pet hair

The main cleaning head has a tangle-free brush roll that spins 3200 RPM and a wide cleaning path of 10.5". As a pet owner, you will love the tangle-free design, which actually works very well. Even long pet hair won't get wrapped around the brush bar when vacuuming!

The opening in the front of the cleaning head is large enough for bigger debris like pet food, and the powerful brush roll lifts up dirt and pet hair from carpets. With the fantastic engineering of the brush roll head, the Bissell ICONPet offers excellent cleaning performance on all surfaces.

Attachments include a Motorized TurboBrush Tool and Lighted LED Crevice Tool + Dusting Brush. The motorized tool is ideal for pet homes as it will quickly remove all pet hair from upholstered furniture, carpeted stairs, car seats, or other such areas.

The combined crevice tool and dusting brush with LED lights, on the other hand, allows you to reach all those dark corners between and under furniture. You can also use the brush for dusting surfaces making sure all that dust gets sucked right in instead of being wafted around.

The ICONPet also comes with a wall-mountable charging system that keeps the vacuum at arms reached and juiced up at all times. With the vacuum at hand, you are always ready for a quick cleanup when your pet makes a mess.

Smart Seal Allergen system and mess-free CleanSlide technology

Although the 0.4-liter dirt cup could be a bit bigger, it holds a good amount of pet hair and other dirt. It is also very easy to empty with the mess-free CleanSlide technology. The new design removes the dirt and hair from the separator allowing debris to fall right out when the bin is emptied. This will spare you of the nasty task of pulling out hair and dirt that has been packed in.

The vacuum also has a Smart Seal Allergen system, which is an excellent feature for pet owners with allergies or sensitivities. Often vacuums may have first-rate filters, but because the system is not sealed, some of the particles escape the filtration system before they get filtered. With a sealed system, you can rest assured all the stuff the vacuum pulls in stays in, and only clean air is blown out.

Although the filters on the ICONPet are not HEPA filters, they filter out all nasty particles and impurities. The pre-motor filter is washable for easy maintenance, and although the post-motor filter is not washable, it can be easily replaced at a low cost when needed.

The F80 has the same functional features as the previous version, like the DuoClean cleaning head and MultiFlex folding, but the Shark F80 comes with a runtime upgrade that will probably interest many buyers.

As most brands are slowly shifting towards cordless vacuums and phasing out corded products, the competition is fierce to have the longest runtime on the market, and this product does really stand out in that regard.

Continue reading to get an overview of all the features, including the pros and cons you need to know. If you want an even more detailed version, you can follow this link to our full review.

An incredible 80-minute runtime with two interchangeable batteries

The Shark F80 offers a whopping 80 minutes of runtime when you use two batteries consecutively. Keep in mind, though, that the 80 minutes is measured in the lowest suction mode with no attachments. Adding tools, turning on the ION Boost mode, or vacuuming a tough surface will affect the runtime and bring it down to 2 x 10 minutes at the lowest.

Still, this vacuum has the longest runtime of all the vacuums we have reviewed, and even 20 minutes with the ION Boost mode is a great achievement when considering the suction power.

We love the interchangeable batteries because you can have one charging when you're using the other one. The charging time for each battery is 3.5 hours, but the two batteries used consecutively should be more than enough to properly clean your home or car. And if you feel like you need an even longer runtime, you can always get additional batteries at a small cost.

    Excellent performance on all surfaces

To upgrade the runtime to such an incredible number, Shark had to sacrifice the suction power. They amped up the battery life by decreasing the strength of the suction in both power modes. This might make you think the vacuum is not powerful anymore, and there might be a problem with how well it picks up debris, but fortunately, that's not the case.

As the DuoClean brush roll mostly relies on brush roll mechanics to pick up dirt, the vacuum does still have great performance. With two brush rolls combined in the DuoClean head, the vacuum does a great job at cleaning even when you move from one surface to another.

The vacuum will give hard floors a polished look while thoroughly cleaning carpets and area rugs. And with the two suction modes - ION Power mode and ION Boost mode – you can always get perfect results.

MultiFLEX technology and other helpful features

The Shark F80 also has a MultiFLEX feature, which allows folding the vacuum midway for a free-standing configuration. Also, folding the vacuum the other way enables you to glide it under furniture without bending down yourself. That's some effortless vacuuming!

You also get LED- headlights for added visibility and fingertip controls to make vacuuming as comfortable as possible.

    3-stage filtration with washable filters

The F80 has three filters, which are all washable. Two pre-motor filters and one post-motor filter. Clogged filters may restrict the airflow, which is why it is important to rinse the filters periodically.

The filters may need to be replaced at some point, which is a small additional cost. Still, washable filters are always a good way to save some money on maintenance costs.

The dirt cup is pretty easy to empty, but sometimes pet hair does get lodged inside the container, and you have to fish it out. Also, the dirt cup is smallish at 0.3 dry quarts, which means it might get packed with pet hair if you have more than one or two large pets that shed a lot.

DuoClean technology for optimal cleaning results

One of the best things about Shark stick vacuums is the DuoClean cleaning head. It combines a soft brush roll for hard floor materials and a stiffer brush roll for carpets in one attachment. You can change the speed of the brush rolls with the fingertip controls, but you don't have to change the cleaning head between floor materials or compromise on the results.

The DuoClean cleaning head ensures a polished finish on hard floor materials as well as a deep clean for carpets of all kinds.

You also get two attachments with the vacuum, and additional attachments are available online. The 8" Crevice Tool is a great tool for reaching all those nooks and crevices, while the upholstery tool will help you keep your furniture free of pet hair.

    Pros

+ Up to 80 minutes of runtime with two interchangeable batteries
+ You can buy additional batteries
+ ION Boost Mode for tough spots
+ Two cleaning heads in one
+ DuoClean head is perfect for hard floors and carpets
+ Excellent at removing pet hair from carpets
+ MultiFlex feature for reaching under furniture
    + Free-standing storage mode
    + Three filters
    + Easy-to-empty dirt cup
    + Fingertip controls

Why choose this product: The POWERSERIES PRO stick vacuum is the most powerful cordless vacuum from Black+Decker. It is easy to use, efficient and reliable – and it has all those features you are looking for in a cordless stick vacuum for pet hair.

It is also moderately priced while still having many useful features and details that make cleaning easier for you. You can use the Powerseries Pro as a handheld vacuum, and the extension wand and hose offer even more reach.

The 1-liter dirt cup is huge, and the dust compactor allows it to hold even more dirt. With the 60-minute runtime, Smartech technology, Grab+Go canister, and Anti-tangle rubber bristles, this is a fantastic choice for homes with pets.

    • 1-liter dirt cup
    • Dust compactor
    Attachments
    • Extension wand
    • 4-foot hose
    • 3 in 1 accessory tool
    Lightweight and easy to use

Because the vacuum is lightweight at 8.25 pounds and it has swivel steering, it is easily maneuvered between furniture and carried around. In addition, the low-profile design lets you get under furniture and appliances. And to add visibility when cleaning those hard-to-reach areas, Black+Decker has even added LED headlights.

You can detach the portable Grab+Go canister for floor-to-ceiling cleaning, which makes sure you can easily reach every inch of your home. The lightweight canister lets you take the powerful suction everywhere, and with the extension hose, you will have no problem reaching up high and in tight spaces.

You can use the touchscreen controls to control the vacuum manually, but the vacuum also adjusts automatically. SMARTTECH features make using the vacuum easier for you: the vacuum automatically adjusts to floor type with the AUTOSENSE technology instantly adjusting the suction when you move from one floor type to another.

To make the product even smarter, they have added BATTERYSENSE and FILTERSENSE technologies to quickly let you know when it’s time to change the filter or when the battery is running low.

    60-minute runtime and great performance

The Black+Decker POWERSERIES PRO 2in1 Pet stick vacuum has an ample 60 minutes of fade-free runtime. This, of course, is measured on the lowest power setting, and the runtime will be shorter when the vacuum is used on more challenging surfaces with different attachments, but in any case, it is pretty impressive for a cordless vacuum in this price range.

We would like to see a higher suction power, but with a powerful brush bar and anti-tangle rubber bristles, the cleaning results are excellent, and you will be happy to see this vacuum wipe out pet hair and other dirt.

    Attachments

The vacuum comes with the main cleaning head designed for floors and carpets. It has anti-tangle rubber bristles which lift up pet hair that has been embedded into carpets, making it very efficient in pet homes.

The POWERSERIES PRO also comes with an extension wand and 4-foot hose for above-floor reach and versatility. With the wand, you can comfortably clean not only your vents and fans, but it also makes it more effortless for you to clean stairs and furniture.

The vacuum actually only comes with one attachment, but that is a 3 in 1 accessory tool with a 6-inch nozzle, crevice tool, and upholstery brush combined together. The design is a bit awkward to use at first, but it works and does its job. You can use this tool for cleaning cushions, dusting surfaces, and getting to those crevices where pet hair likes to hide.

The set of attachments could be improved, but at this price range, we’re not complaining. This vacuum has all those tools needed to keep your home in perfect shape, but if we have to point out a shortcoming, it would be the lack of a brush roll tool for furniture. That being said, the vacuum does get high ratings, and all in all, it is a good deal.

Huge dirt cup and high-performance filter

When it comes to filtration and the dirt cup, we are quite happy with the design. The filter is washable, and it is protected with a screen to ensure it lasts longer. The filter is not a HEPA filter, but it does seem like a high-quality filter, and it does provide clean exhaust air.

If you or your family members have allergies and you need a HEPA filter, you might want to check out the Powerseries Pro Anti-allergen vacuum, which is basically the same vacuum but with a HEPA filter.

The 1-liter dirt bin is huge, and emptying the bin is easy and hygienic. There is also an innovative new feature that Black+Decker has added to this vacuum, and it is a dust compactor.

The dust compactor creates more space in the dirt container making sure it will fit the maximum amount of pet hair and dust before having to be emptied. With this feature added, the vacuum holds 3x more dust and hair, making it ideal for pet owners. In addition to letting you empty it less often, it also enables you to avoid that dust cloud when emptying the bin.

If you have more than one or two furry companions at home who shed heavily, this vacuum is definitely a great choice. With the duct compactor and large dirt cup combined, the Powerseries pro can hold a massive amount of pet hair before needing to be emptied.

    Pros

    + Lightweight at 8.25 pounds
    + Up to 60-minute runtime
    + Grab+Go canister for portability
+ Anti-tangle rubber bristles lift up pet hair
+ Extension hose and wand for overhead reach
    + SmartTech sensors
    + LED headlights
+ Touchscreen for controlling the vacuum

    Cons

    - Price

Often pet owners need a versatile vacuum that can handle not only pet hair but all kinds of cleanups especially in those high-traffic areas like the hallway and kitchen.

And this is where the Dyson stick vacuums come to the rescue. The Dyson V6 and V8  vacuums have powerful motors, superb attachments, and excellent adaptability.

    Performance and ease of use

The two vacuums have gotten praising reviews from users, and there is no reason why they shouldn't...

The attachments are well designed, and they enable this vacuum to handle all messes from the floor to ceiling. They have the same basic functions as the more advanced V10 with only small compromises in runtime, dirt cup capacity, and suction power.

Since they are older models, you might even get them at an excellent discount. They are not as perfect as the Dyson V10 or V11, but a tough competitor to beat in the category of best stick vacuums for pet hair.

The Dyson V6 does have some minor imperfections, which I have gone through in the full review, but Dyson listened to the remarks users were making, and they upgraded the V8 to have a larger dirt container, an even easier emptying system and twice the already good run time.

The Dyson vacuums offer the most powerful cordless motors on the market. They have a strong suction with a fade-free battery which allows you to get full use of the suction power.

The Dyson V6 offers 20 minutes of run time, which Dyson upgraded to 40 minutes on the V8 motor. Both vacuums have a maximum mode for tough jobs, but using it will take the run time down to about 7 minutes.

With the Dyson stick vacuums, you get two vacuums in one. With a simple click, you can convert the stick vacuum to a powerful handheld vacuum that you can use for vacuuming your furniture, car, shelves, ceilings, curtains, etc. Because of the lightweight design and weight distribution, these vacuums are agile and easy to use.

They come bagless with a large washable dirt cup that you can quickly and hygienically empty with a simple push of a button.

Filtration is done in two stages: the 2-tiered cyclonic filtration system uses centrifugal forces to efficiently separate dirt and dust from the air, after which the air is passed through a washable post-motor filter to make sure the exhaust air is as clean as possible. If you or your family member have allergies, there are models with washable HEPA filters available.

The Dyson V6 and V8 vacuums perform well on low to medium pile carpets and hard floors using specially designed floor heads, that thoroughly pick up all dirt, dust and pet hair.

Dyson also offers a wide variety of other attachments for other specific cleaning jobs. With these tools, you can be sure the vacuum gives great results in all areas of your home.

    Attachments

Dyson has an extensive range of attachments and add-ons you can add to your vacuum.

First, you need to decide which motor you want to buy; V6 or V8. All Dyson vacuums come with some basic attachments, but depending on the model you get additional attachments for specific cleaning jobs.

For pet owners, I recommend the Animal and Absolute models, because they come with the mini motorized brush, which is excellent for removing pet hair from fabrics.

All vacuums come with the Direct-drive brush roll head, which works well on hard floors and carpets alike. With the Absolute vacuums, you also get the Soft roller cleaner head, which is designed to vacuum up even the finest dust and dander you find on hard floors. Both floor cleaning heads are very functional and deliver excellent results.

In addition to the essential tools like the crevice tool, brush tool and such, Dyson has many add-ons you can purchase separately to upgrade your vacuum even further.

They offer many different attachments to solve all kinds of vacuuming needs, but for pet owners, the most interesting ones are the grooming tool and tangle-free turbine brush. Two outstanding tools with innovative design to help you fight pet hair.

As an owner of two dogs, I have made use of many of the attachments, and I have found them to have top-notch functionality and performance. Sand, soil, food pellets, pet hair, dander… The Dyson has the solution to vacuuming up anything on any surface.

    Summed up

The Dyson V6 and V8 offer fantastic adaptability and practical features for pet owners dealing with all kinds of pet-related vacuuming jobs (and all other messes as well!).

They are not as advanced as Dyson V10 or V11, but if you can settle for a shorter runtime, they are a great choice for an all-around stick vacuum. The price is also on point now that they are no longer the newest Dyson model.

As highly functional vacuums with many handy attachments, we can definitely say V6 and V8 earn their spot in the top stick vac line-up.

    Shark IonFLEX DuoClean

The Shark IonFLEX DuoClean vacuum is another powerful and versatile stick vacuum that performs well with vacuuming up pet hair. It's basically the same vacuum as Shark f80, but with shorter runtime, lower price and stronger suction. It is a durable vacuum fitted with many innovative features to make your cleanup tasks no sweat. You can read what users say about this vacuum here.

The vacuum also has the MultiFLEX technology, which allows you to fold the wand in half for compact storage in selfstanding mode or to reach under furniture effortlessly.

With the rechargeable and removable lithium batteries, you have the option of getting a second Shark ION Power Pack battery to lengthen the runtime from 22 minutes to 44 minutes.

    Summed up

A high performing and easy-to-use 2 in 1 stick vacuum with many innovative features, such as the MultiFlex feature and DuoClean head.

It is lightweight and smoothly maneuvered with a swivel head and two-way folding handle. By folding the handle forward, you can push the vacuum under low furniture without having to bend down, and by folding the handle backward, you can set the Bissell Bolt in the compact and free-standing storage configuration.

The fade-free lithium-ion battery offers a good 25 minutes of runtime, and the extra large dirt cup makes sure you won't have to cut your vacuuming short to run to the trash can to empty the dirt cup. And when it’s time to dump the contents, you have the Clean-Turn system for hygienic cleaning of the filter.

    Attachments

The Bissell Bolt Pet comes with the brush roll cleaning head for floors and 3 other attachments.

    Summed up

The Hoover REACT is a suitable stick vacuum for someone looking for a reliable and mid-priced all-rounder that can manage pet hair on all surfaces.

Users report minor problems, such as the vacuum not connecting with the app and the parts needing some force to be detached, but all in all this vacuum gets very positive reviews on its remarkable versatility and well thought out features.

All stick vacuums get compared with the Dyson V10, and although the REACT does not quite reach the same level of finesse, it certainly deserves its place in this category.

Buying guide - how to choose a perfect lightweight stick vac?

Stick vacuums can be very practical and handy in a home with pets.

You can have one as a primary vacuum if your home is not very big, or you can get one for smaller cleanups and maintaining a top-level tidiness between more thorough vacuuming. (Read more about what makes stick vacuums unique.)

But what do you need to know to find yourself the perfect pet hair vacuum?

The first thing you need to consider is the suction power.

If you have high pile carpets and you think you need a vacuum with an extreme suction power to clean those carpets down to the last fiber, then an upright type vacuum cleaner will be a better choice for you.

But if you have some carpeting in parts of your house and it is from low to medium pile, then a stick vacuum should have enough power to do an excellent job.

Before some advances in technology, stick vacuums lacked suction ability. They were slim and lightweight, but they were used as the secondary vacuum to tidy up the hallway and kitchen with the weekly cleaning done with a sturdier vacuum.

But today you can find stick vacuums that are very powerful, efficient and have a strong suction to pick up all kinds of dirt and debris you pets throw in front of you.

All of the vacuums we recommend have been put to the test in real life and pet owners have given them a high score on performance and suction power

The most important thing to keep in mind about attachments is that they need to pick up pet hair.

Most vacuums can manage dirt, soil, sand, and dust, but pet hair is different.

We all know how short and needle-like pet hair will cling onto fabrics and how long pet hair gets tangled in the brush roll and clogs up the vacuum. As a pet owner, you need your vacuum cleaner to have attachments, that really grab that pet hair and pull it up to be sucked into the dirt bin.

A brush roll is probably the most effective type of attachment for clearing pet hair. You need stiff bristles to grasp the hair and pull it up to be sucked inside the vacuum cleaner. Another powerful way to attract pet hair is to use a tool that is lined with rubber or felt.

A brush roll or a brush tool can also be very efficient in collecting dust, dander, and other finer dirt, but for bigger debris such as cat litter or pebbles, you need a crevice tool. You also need the crevice tool to get between the cushions and to reach other tight spots.

To find an excellent vacuum for pet hair, look for these types of attachments.

Some people prefer bagged vacuums because they are easy and quick to maintain. When the bag fills up, you just toss it away and replace it with a  new one. Doing this, however, is not cheap nor environmentally smart.

With a bagless vacuum you may have to empty and wash the dirt cup, but after the initial investment, there are no additional expenses.

For pet owners, I would recommend a bagless stick vacuum. If your pet sheds a lot, you might find you have to change a bag very often, which can be expensive. Also, when you have a see-through dirt cup, it is easy to assess the need for emptying yourself. The vacuum won’t get clogged and damp pet hair won’t be left to form a nasty smell inside your vacuum.

With the modern stick vacuums emptying of the dirt cup is quick and painless. It is done by releasing the bottom of the container or detaching the container from the vacuum. Either way, it is no hassle and won’t take you more than 30 seconds.

Choosing a corded or a cordless stick vacuum comes down to your preferences.

Some people want a corded vacuum as they feel a battery powered vacuum wouldn’t have the sufficient runtime to finish vacuuming.

Many people, however, prefer a cordless vacuum because it saves them from the hassle of having to plug it in and make sure you are close enough to a power outlet at all times.

Which one fits your needs, is a matter or personal preference.

If you choose a battery-powered cordless vacuum, you need to pay attention to the runtime provided with a full charge and how long it takes for the battery to be fully charged.

A runtime of over 20 minutes is good and will give you time to get some serious vacuuming done. It may sound like a short time, but my personal experience is you do get quite a bit of cleaning done in that time.

The time needed for the battery to charge entirely depends on which type of battery the vacuum cleaner is using. Excellent vacuums need a lot of power to provide proper suction and spin the brush roll, so it may take quite a while for the battery to charge; 5-6 hours is not uncommon.

It may feel like a long time, but if you keep the vacuum in the charger, it will most likely be ready anytime you need to do some vacuuming.

If you or your family members have allergies or sensitivities to dust and dander, you should look for a vacuum with a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate absorber) – filter.

To meet up with the US government standards, a HEPA grade air filter must remove 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 micrometers or bigger.

Buying a vacuum with a sealed HEPA filtration system will ensure the exhaust air blown back into the air you breath is free of allergens and won’t cause symptoms for people with sensitivities.

When comparing stick type vacuums cleaners, it is essential to take note of the weight of the vacuum. As stick vacuums are designed to be carried, the weight will affect how easy and comfortable it is to use.

In a canister or an upright vacuum cleaner, the weight doesn’t play such as significant role, as you push or pull the vacuum around.

But for a stick vacuum to be practical and convenient, it should have a slimline and lightweight design. If your vacuum cleaner isn’t easy to use, you won’t be using it as much.

You should note, that the weight is not the only factor though. Distribution of the weight is also crucial. If a vacuum is lightweight, but the weight of the vacuum is mainly at the furthest end of your hand, it will be heavy to lift.

On the other hand, if the weight is concentrated in the motorized part you are holding, only the wand and vacuuming head need to be light to lift.

There is one particular reason I mention price as one of the critical features to consider.

With vacuums, the price often matches the performance. There are capable and efficient vacuums with affordable prices, and not all expensive products do a good job, but with a higher price, you tend to get better quality, better features, and better attachments.

We try to pick out top performing vacuums in all price ranges so that all our readers can find a good fit for them.

But in this category, there is one vacuum that I especially recommend, and that is the Dyson V10. It outperforms the other vacuums in power and versatility, but it also comes at a bigger price. If you can stretch your budget, it is a fantastic choice for anyone with pets at home.

Putting up the dough just isn’t possible for everyone, but don’t fear. There are many other great pet hair vacuums of the stick type out there. Our comparison table will allow you to quickly check out which vacuums would fit your budget the best. If you're not sure about investing in a stick vacuum, this is why we think it's worth it.

Why should I choose a stick vacuum for pet hair?

Pet hair can be one of the most challenging things to clean up. It is persistent and stubborn, and it seems to cling onto everything.

And to make matters worse there is a neverending supply of that nuisance at your home. You cat or dog will shed throughout the year and even more during shedding season. The supply is not running out as long as you have a furry pet, so you just need to figure out a way to deal with it.

Having a well-performing stick vacuum is an ideal solution for that pet hair problem.

As you know, pet hair will basically invade your whole home. Your floors are covered with it, it collects into huge wads, covers your furniture and clothes – it even sticks to the drapes. Sometimes you may feel it’s an endless battle to keep your home even at a reasonable level of clean.

What you need is a versatile vacuum that can adapt to any surface. And a stick vacuum is just what you’re looking for!

Stick vacuums are lightweight and easily maneuvered. Many have excellent attachments that will keep your floors and carpets clean and free of that nasty hair – without having to bend down.

Also, most stick vacuums are quickly converted to handheld vacuums, that you can use for all above-floor cleaning. You can detach the wand and pop on one of the useful attachments. With a handheld vacuum, you can easily remove pet hair from any surface including your furniture, car seats, drapes, and carpeted stairs.

And not just pet hair, but dust, dander, and other dirt as well. Forget about your old duster. With a handheld vacuum and a dusting brush, you can dust surfaces without wafting those dust particles back into the air.

Since many stick vacuums have useful attachments included, you can use them everywhere. Most stick vacuums have brush roll tool for floors and carpets meaning that they are able to not only meticulously clean hard floors but also to lift pet hair that has been embedded to your carpets and rugs.

Many stick vacuums also have a motorized brush roll tool for upholstered items. This type of tool is the most efficient way of removing pet hair from your furniture, and you will always have a clean couch for your guests to sit on.

Although stick vacuums are lightweight and compact, they have powerful motors to offer excellent cleaning results. And since they are adaptable, you can use them to vacuum just about anything!

However, it is not just the features and attachments that make stick vacuums so useful. Because they are cordless, they are easy to pick up for a quick cleanup. You can keep your stick vacuum charged and ready to go at all times. And because the best vacuum is the one that you love using, having a stick vacuum will make it easier to keep your home clean.

With one of these vacuums, you will notice that vacuuming can be a no-sweat job you actually look forward to. And the best part? It will keep your home clean and help you win the battle against pet hair.

What should I expect to pay?

We've all seen those infomercials with lightweight stick vacuums that supposedly give your home a thorough cleanup while being very cheap. You can also find similar products in many stores; low-cost stick vacuums, that are very simple in terms of features and functions.

When it comes to pet hair, you should not invest your hard-earned money in one of these inferior vacuums. To be able to deal with pet hair and other challenging dirt, a vacuum cleaner needs to have a powerful motor for strong suction and excellent tools that provide adaptability. A vacuum that does not work as you need it to is not worth your money.

The bottom line is, you should expect to spend more than 150 dollars if you want a stick vacuum that has the power and features you need to keep a pet home clean. From this, you can go up to a few hundred bucks depending on how advanced and easy-to-use you want the vacuum to be.

High-quality materials, strong motors, attention to detail in design and advanced features will obviously cost you more money, but often the investment is worth it because you get a vacuum cleaner that will last you for many years and make your life easier every day.

A stick vacuum that is worth your money should have powerful suction, long runtime, large dirt cup and preferably a motorized brush roll tool for picking up that pet hair. The more you add advanced features, the more you can expect to pay.

We have chosen the best stick vacuums for pet hair from all price categories. Above you will find reviews on those products that are in the lower price range while still providing excellent performance and also high-end products with all the bells and whistles. Although you might be able to find even cheaper stick vacuums, we don't recommend buying them because they are not up for the job.

All of these vacuums we recommend have what it takes to clean pet hair from most surfaces of your home, but of course, investing a bit more than the minimum will get you a more versatile appliance.

How to make the most of your stick vacuum?

You have a brand new stick vacuum and a home that needs cleaning. You also have furry pets, which results in pet hair everywhere, and you wish you could have one of those immaculate homes that look like the family pet doesn’t shed at all, and everything always smells nice and fresh.

So how should you use a stick vacuum to get the best cleaning results? How can a lightweight vacuum like this help you keep your home free or pet hair, dust, and other dirt?

The key to having that perfectly clean home is routine. Instead of letting the mess build up until your weekly cleaning, you need to make a shift in the way you see cleaning. It is not something you spend the whole Saturday at; rather, it’s something that takes just a few minutes here and there.

With a lightweight and cordless vacuum, it is easier than ever to keep up with a vacuuming routine. Since you don’t have to lug out a heavy machine or find the nearest power outlet, you really don’t have any excuses not to clean up there and then when you spot something that needs vacuuming.

The easiest way to keep a stick vacuum within arms reach is to buy one that has a wall-mountable charger that holds the vacuum while it juices up. The vacuum will always be ready with a full battery when you need it and easily grabbed when placed in a convenient location.

When you have a powerful vacuum at hand, it is easy to clean up that tracked-in dirt from the hallway or the kitty litter your cat scattered all over the floor. You are much more likely to handle these kinds of messes asap when cleaning up doesn’t involve a lot of hassle with a heavy appliance that needs to be plugged in.

Because your pet won’t stop shedding, it’s vital that you keep up with the routine and do a quick cleanup every day. It will only take a few minutes to vacuum the hallway, kitchen, living area, and upholstered furniture like the couch and recliners. These high-traffic areas need cleaning more often than other areas of your home. You may also want to give your bed a quick vacuuming if your pet uses it for napping during the day.

Most lightweight stick vacuums quickly convert into a handheld stick vacuum, which is ideal for dusting and thoroughly cleaning hard-to-reach areas. Using your vacuum for dusting prevents the particles from being wafted into the air and makes the chore quick and effortless. You should vacuum above-floor areas once a week to keep the dust in your home to the minimum.

To get the most out of your stick vacuum, you should follow this routine:

    Every day

    • Use the vacuum with the wand and brush roll head to vacuum high-traffic areas like the kitchen, living room, and hallway.
    • Use the handheld vacuum and upholstery tool to vacuum the couch, recliners, and other upholstered furniture. Also, vacuum the pet bed when necessary.

These two steps will only take a few minutes every day, but you will see a huge improvement in the cleanliness of your home. Plus, as the upkeep cleaning keeps your home clean on an everyday basis, you won’t have to dedicate your weekends to massive cleanup operations.

    Every week

    • Use the vacuum and brush roll head to vacuum all other floor areas that have not been vacuumed during your daily cleanups.
    • Use the handheld vacuum and dusting brush to dust all above-floor surfaces
    • Use the motorized brush roll tool for carpeted stairs and furniture.

Again, with your home already basically dust and pet hair-free, your weekly cleaning session shouldn’t take long, and you can enjoy your weekend doing nicer things.

These tips will help you look at cleaning in a whole new way. Rather than being a chore, it can be something that you can naturally do while doing other stuff. With the right equipment, you won’t even notice you’re keeping your home clean while you go about your daily life. It’s just easy, effortless, and quick.

    FAQ

A stick vacuum is a perfect choice for anyone looking for an agile and adaptable vacuum to clean up all kinds of messes on all types of surfaces all around your home.

Because most stick vacuums are cordless and lightweight, they can easily be carried around the house and used for not only vacuuming the floors but also on all above-floor areas.

Stick vacuums are becoming more and more popular because technology has made considerable advancements in recent years.

Just a few years ago stick vacuums had weak suction and short battery life. They could be used on quick cleanups, but most products weren’t powerful enough to pick up heavier debris to a satisfactory level.

The recent releases in this product category compete with sturdy and powerful upright vacuums in suction power and performance. Cordless stick vacuums have become so powerful and popular, that brands like Dyson are focusing on the production of cordless stick vacuums, and slowly fading out bulkier models.

A stick vacuum is the ideal vacuum cleaner for most homes, but sometimes getting one might require a change in cleaning habits. Because lugging out a corded upright for cleaning can be quite a burdensome task, most people try to avoid vacuuming. Unfortunately, the dust and debris don’t magically disappear by avoiding them, so people end up doing massive vacuuming sessions now and then.

A stick vacuum requires a whole new attitude. Because it’s so easy to grab the vacuum, you can give it a quick spin every time you see something that needs vacuuming.

You can use your stick vacuum for just 5 minutes daily or every other day for upkeep vacuuming. Not only will you be able to avoid spending the whole Saturday vacuuming, but your home will also be dust and pet hair-free every single day!

A stick vacuum is the perfect pet hair vacuum for any pet owners looking for a vacuum cleaner that is:

    + Lightweight and portable
    + 2 in 1 design (including a handheld vacuum)
    + Easy to use
+ Suitable for all surfaces and areas
    + Always at hand
+ Excellent for high-traffic areas like the hallway and kitchen

In short: Yes. In the past, many stick vacuums were just the inferior version of an upright vacuum. Often they were corded and lacked some of the key features that make upright vacuums very functional and practical.

But with advances in technology, many stick vacuums are incredibly powerful, and they have impressive batteries to power their strong suction.

They don’t take up a lot of space, and they are very easy to pick up to start cleaning.

My personal experience is that this is the best type of vacuum to keep the loose pet hair at your home under control.

Because a stick vacuum is easy to use, lightweight and can handle cleanups from floor to ceiling, it is the ideal vacuum to abolish pet hair. With an easy-to-use vacuum cleaner, you will be more likely to vacuum often, and that is how pet hair won’t take over your home.

With a stick vacuum, my experience is, that the first thing you need to consider is your budget.

If you can stretch your budget and invest in a Dyson V10 Absolute, that would be my number one choice.

If you have a tighter budget just have a look at the other recommendations I have picked out for you based on my research. They all perform great, and you just need to think of your preferences.

What kind of features do you think you will find useful? Do the attachments match your vacuuming needs? Do you have allergies and need a HEPA filter?

Just have a look at our full comparison chart to compare the top pet stick vacs and choose the one that fits your situation, budget and preferences.

    • large dirt cup
    • long runtime
    • excellent attachments for removing pet hair
    • washable HEPA filter

It is also lightweight, and the design makes it easy to use on all surfaces. Dyson vacuums are high-quality products at a high price, but they are worth the investment due to excellent features and durable materials.

Shark has two excellent vacuums in the stick vacuum category: Shark ION F80 and Shark IONFlex DuoClean

Basically, these two vacuums are the same product with only small modifications.

Shark IonFLEX DuoClean is the older version, and it has 44 minutes of runtime with two batteries. Although it has a shorter runtime, it also has a stronger suction and a lower price.

Shark ION F80 MultiFLEX, on the other hand, has a whopping 80 minutes of runtime with two batteries - which is the longest runtime on the market. However, to increase the battery life, they had to decrease the suction power. That is why the older version Shark IonFLEX DuoClean has a stronger suction in comparison.

Both vacuums are fantastic choices for a stick vacuum for pet hair. They have

    • long runtime with two interchangeable batteries
    • ION Boost Mode for tough jobs
    • DuoClean head for hard floors and carpets
    • MultiFlex feature for reaching under furniture

If you're interested in Shark vacuums, and you're not sure if a handheld or a stick vacuum is a better choice for you, check out our article on the best Shark vacuums for pet hair.

If you want a lightweight vacuum cleaner for pet hair, but you’re not really sure if a cordless vacuum is the way to go, there are some great corded vacuums on the market as well.

Buying a cordless vacuum for pet hair is the trend right now because many manufacturers are slowly moving form corded vacuum cleaners to cordless ones.

With advancements in technology, cordless vacuums have become just as powerful and capable as corded ones, and in a few years, we predict most people will be buying cordless vacuums for residential cleaning.

Cordless vacuums are so much easier to use, and they still have the same cleaning power.

That said, if you feel like a corded vacuum is the right choice for you, you should definitely have a look at the bestselling Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Corded Vacuum.

If you're looking for the best cordless vacuum for pet hair, you probably know, that pet hair finds its way to every nook and cranny.

A cordless pet hair vacuum is something that you can use on all surfaces and in every part of your home – even your car.

You don’t have to deal with the hassle that comes with finding the closest power outlet and plugging in the vacuum. The vacuum is always ready in its charger, and you can give it a quick spin each time you spot a mess that needs urgent attention.

The best cordless stick vacuum for pet hair is the Dyson V10. When you compare it to the other top rated vacuums, it has the best combination of features and barely any shortcomings.

If the Dyson V10 is out of your budget range, you should have a look at Shark ION F80 MultiFLEX and Shark IonFLEX DuoClean. They are excellent mid-range vacuums with many excellent features that will benefit pet owners.

Or, if you are on a tight budget, MOOSOO Cordless 2-in-1 is the one you should check out. It’s a pretty convenient and versatile stick vacuum with many great features and a moderate price.

If you have hardwood floors and pets, you should be looking at F80 MultiFLEX or Shark IonFLEX DuoClean.

They have an excellent attachment called the DuoClean cleaning head. It has two brush rolls, which makes it efficient on all kinds of floor surfaces.

The first brush roll is very useful at cleaning carpets, but the second brush roll is what you need. It is soft and dense, gently cleaning hard floor materials like hardwood, parquet, laminate, and tile. Because it firmly but softly engages the floor, it also leaves a polished look removing all pet hair, dust, and dander.

Another great option would be the Dyson Cyclone V10 because it has a Soft Roller attachment that perfectly cleans any pet hair, dust, and debris on hardwood floors.

If you have carpeting in your home and you are looking for a stick vacuum that has enough cleaning power to keep them neat as a pin, you should turn your eyes to the Dyson Cyclone V10.

It is a top-notch vacuum with a pretty steep price, but it also has what it takes to keep those carpets clean. Strong suction and the Torque Drive Cleaning head make sure that all dirt, dust, debris and pet hair is lifted from even those dense and thick area rugs.

Although the V10 is the top dog when it comes to cleaning carpets, both Shark vacuums are very capable as well. We would even recommend the cheaper Shark IonFLEX DuoClean because although it is an older model, it has a stronger suction to help pick up all that dirt embedded into the carpet.

We really wouldn’t recommend buying a stick vacuum for pet hair under 100 dollars because for a vacuum to be efficient at picking up pet hair, it needs to have enough power and adequate attachments you can’t find at low prices.

There is no point in buying a cheap vacuum that is useless because it doesn’t have what it takes.

Instead, you should consider stretching your budget by just a little. MOOSOO Cordless 17Kpa 2-in-1 is a stick vacuum with a very moderate price and yet all the features you need a stick vacuum to have in a pet home. Scroll back up to check out the specs and to read the review.

Basically, the two are the same thing: a lightweight vacuum cleaner that can be corded or cordless. However, you could say a stick vacuum is a modern version of what used to be called an electric broom.

By electric brooms, people usually refer to those vacuums, that are the lightweight versions of upright vacuums, but not as lightweight as stick vacuums. They are not as efficient as upright vacuums, but you can easily keep them at hand in the kitchen and hallway for quick cleanups. Electric brooms are usually designed to be used like sweepers – mainly for vacuuming debris off the floor.

By stick vacuums, most people mean the modern, adaptable vacuums that have that lightweight stick-type design. Usually, they quickly turn into a handheld vacuum, and many of them are very powerful.

Because of the advancements in technology, many stick vacuums are very potent, and the ones with a long runtime can replace a bulky upright vacuum in most homes.

For a cordless pet vacuum, we recommend stick vacuums for two reasons: electric brooms are often not as powerful, and stick vacuums are more adaptable. Because pet hair tends to find its way to every nook and cranny in your home – including the upholstery on your furniture – you need a vacuum that can handle all surfaces, above-floor areas included.

Did you find THE stick vacuum for your needs?
