Yella Hewings-Martin, Ph.D.

Yella holds a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from King’s College London and a Ph.D. in pediatrics and child health from University College London. Prior to joining Medical News Today, she worked for many years in research, focusing on new treatments for severe skin injuries and diagnostics for skin cancer. As Research Editor, Yella is a staunch defender of scientific accuracy. She is particularly interested in how researchers communicate the impact of their findings to the general public. When she is not at work, Yella can be found chilling at the beach or the local playground with her two children. She also likes baking.
