A Kids Book About Racism

This is a wonderful book that every child - and adult - should read. It's a great starting point for talking to our children about race, racism, and how to be an antiracist. Thank you, Jelani, for writing this book (and creating the series).

I was so very impressed with how thought provoking this book really was for my little ones. Being a white, middle class woman, I was struggling to find a way to offer perspective on the experience of being a person of color in America, especially in times like we are experiencing. I mean, I knew what I wanted them to know, and I wanted to explicitly teach it, and this absolutely is a wonderful tool for that. I am so grateful to A Kid's Book About for their Series and for putting the tools out there to have these necessary conversations.

i got this book for my sister who was hesitant at first. til i told her that her child is going to be exposed to racism one way or another, the real question is: do you want them to be prepared? or would you prefer they get their morals from some gang of white supremacists? after that, how can you not buy this book? seriously, great read that is easy and simple enough for children to understand. a page by page reading is even available on youtube. could not be more pleased. A+

The story is beautifully written. Truly transformative from a child's perspective.
